The IGCSE Chemistry Course gives a basic introduction to various aspects of Chemistry.
The course is reasonably rigorous and gives opportunity for students to enhance their problem solving skills.The practical component of the course enables students to develop confidence in laboratory technique and also helps with their planning skills.This part of the course also encourages participation and communication with other members of the group.

Written examinations at the end of the course:80%

- Paper 2 (corestructured questions) - 1 hour 15 minutes 48%
- Paper 3 (extended)structured questions - 1 hour 15 minutes 48%
Practical assessment at the end of the course 20%
Paper 6 (all) Alternative to practical exam 1 hour 15 minutes 20%
Candidates following the Core Curriculum take Papers 1,2 and 6.Grades C to G will be available to these candidates.
Candidates following the Extended Curriculum take Papers 1,3 and 6.The full range of grades (A* to G) will be available to these candidates.
