Soccer
Soccer is one of the most successful and developed sport at ISSA played by almost three quarters of the students. At inter-house level the sport is highly competitive as it is competed by classes in each form for both boys and girls. The sport is composed of the following teams:
1 Two girls teams
2 Two U14 teams
3 Three U16 teams
4 One U19 team
Girls practise 3 times a week and they are coached by Mr. S Chinomona and Miss Hailey and they are aided by Coach Norman on Fridays.
The U14 boys are coached by Mr. J Keen together with Coach Norman on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The U16 are coached by Mr. T. Makudo and Mr. B. Muthimunye with the help of Coach Norman on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Our senior boy’s team is coached by Mr. J Munatsi assisted by Mr. Chitashu who is their technical trainer on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Our U14 and U17 recently toured the UK where they played a number of games against U17 and U14 Bolton Wanders, U17 and U14 QPR Rangers and many other clubs. Our U19 and U14 they are involved in the PWC School Soccer league in Mafikeng in which they have won all their matches so far.
The U16 A team has won the PWC School Soccer League for 3 consecutive years since its inception. The soccer department hosts every year tournaments for each age group which attract teams as far as Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swaziland, Namibia and South Africa. Our U19 soccer tournament takes place every year at the beginning of April. The whole soccer department is run by Mr. B. Chimhau.
