Hockey
Hockey is one of our favorite sporting codes at the International School of SA.
We have the following teams :
Girls Hockey – Under 14 / Under 16 / 1st Team
Boys Hockey - Under 14 / Under 16 / 1st Team
We participate in the Vryburg / Mafikeng Hockey District and play teams from areas including : Vryburg, Schweizer Renencke, Stella and Wolmeranstad and always give a good account of ourselves.
Our NW Hockey Season is from April to June – Second School Term.
If we manage to do well in the District league, we progress to the NW Playoffs against the other Districts like Rustenburg, Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp, where we play on Astro Turf and if able to win this competition are then NW Provincial Champion.
We also play in the Third Term Monsanto Hockey League, which includes teams from the Country District area including; Sannieshof, Swartruggens and Koster – this league is a developmental Hockey League and is used to grow our teams for the NW Hockey Leagues.
We have been fortunate to have had many of our Hockey Players selected for the District and North West Provincial teams and a number of our Coaches and organisors serve on the various District and Provincial Bodies.
