Cricket
Cricket at ISSA is played at two age-group levels, namely Under 15 and Under 19.
We have one team in each age-group and participate in the local Central District, which includes teams from Mafikeng, Zeerust, Lichtenburg and Coligny.
Our teams are regular winners of these two District leagues and then move on to the North West Playoffs, where if we win the District we play off for the Country District Title against teams from areas including; Vryburg, Schweizer Renencke, Stella and Wolmeranstad.
If our teams are successful at this level, we progress to the North West knock-out stages where we then play the other Provincial Regions like Rustenburg, Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp for the North West Title of Provincial Champions – we have achieved this twice in our school’s history and are very proud of this fact.
Our teams also participate in our own annual International Tournaments at both age-group levels and host teams from Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa in various Festivals and 20/20 Cricket Tournaments.
Our Cricket season runs from September to November and from January to March – we play a number of Inter School matches in Pretoria and Johannesburg during this time.
We have been fortunate to have had many of our Cricketers selected for the District and North West Provincial teams and a number of our Coaches and organisors serve on the various District and Provincial Bodies.
